| My DVDs and CDs from Play and Amazon came through this morning, which was refreshingly quick. So, I've got X-Men 1.5 and 2, and Animatrix to watch, and 92 songs from The Simpsons to listen to.
I took a walk with Tim out to the Post Office sorting office to pick up my trousers I had ordered that couldn't be delivered. It's a good 4 or 5 mile round trip out to the office, the sun was high and the sky was almost cloudless. It was magnificent in my black jeans and black short sleeved shirt - feeling fresh and cool the entire time.
We stopped into ASDA for a quick look around before heading over to Pizza Hut for some lunch, and were served by the most beautiful and excellent waitresses, I believe, in the history of Pizza Hut. Very gorgeous, attentive and great overall service. Her automatic refilling of drinks without needing to check what is was, and without asking if it was wanted, is usually enough for me to warrant the 10% at the restaurant, but I increased it because, well, she was teh greatness, which I think caught as a bit of a surprise when I had put the meal on card.
Mmm.
(The pizza was good too.)

| There are some things I didn't think I'd get to see, Anthony Stewart Head and Richard O'Brien sharing stage, was one of them. But still, as respectively, the classical Captain Hook and sinister Child Catcher, there they were.
Head's seriousness in a panto role was great, it was like watching a Shakespeare piece for quality. O'Brien's Child Catcher was the great kind of sickening that one would expect on stage, with oozing pustulent movement and the creepiness that makes O'Brien's characterisations astounding.
I know it was for Her Maj's 80th, but given the day, I'll take it as fate's present to me (I'm greedy like that).
It was great, plus all the other celebs doing fantasy literature roles was fun. Jonathan Ross as the Fat Controller; Bradley Walsh as Burglar Bill; Jerry Hall as Queen Of The Pirates; Patsy Kensit as the Grand High Witch from The Witches; June Brown and Pam St Clement as Aunts Spiker and Sponge from James and the Giant Peach; Amanda Redman as Cruella De Vil, with Nicholas Lyndhurst as her Chauffeur; Joe Pasquale as White Rabbit; Dani Harmer, Darragh Mortell and Montanna Thompson as Tracey Beaker and friends; Kelly Osbourne as Wendy from Peter Pan (on stage with Head); Sanjeev Bhaskar as Robin Hood; Martin Clunes as PC Plod; and, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Matthew Lewis as their Hogwarts students. They also included Bernard Cribbins, Alan Titchmarsh, Meera Syal and Ronnie Corbett.
They conveyed a great message too, where would books be without the baddies. Without Cruella De Vil, it would have just been My what a lot of dalmations.

| Did you know that 25 years ago today, the Microsoft company restructured to become an incorporated business in its home state of Washington, with Bill Gates became president of the company and Chairman of the Board. Over time there were masses of death with the Battle of Little Big Horn and the Korean War. There were a few historic births, like George's Michael and Orwell. Unsurprising it is also Antichristmas celebrated by some Satanists, being semi-special being so close to 06/06/06 I suppose? Tim took me and mum down to town to treat us to lunch out, which was very tasty. Weston was slightly packed, as the sun was out, so there were a lot of bikini-topped babes and a lovely 'daisy duke and england top' girl, wandering the town. I have to admit, there are quite a few very attractive young ladies working retail and service in Weston too, ahhhhh. Unfortunately, there was also a large number of bare breasted, large old guys wandering around, which was regrettable. Have to decide what I want to spend some money on now, clothes that fit or luxury items like DVDs? Ooh, the decisions! | |

| That voucher from the team came in very handy as I discovered that the maximum number of items that Amazon allows on it's Wish Lists is 1000 items, and after taking the suggestion to put up all the DVDs I need to replace videos I've hit that. I managed to put in some other money with the Amazon vouchers and ordered myself Kill Bill Vol. 1, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Doctor Who : Gallifrey Chronicles (for Tim) and...wait for it... Guild Wars. Oh Hell Yes!! It's also pay day on Thursday - when I'm meeting Nik and Heth for lunch - so I might get a couple more items off while the sale is on! | |

| Well, I have the honour (dubious in some instances) of sharing the day with George Orwell, Carly Simon, George Michael and MS Windows 98, and the Anti-Christmas as celebrated by some Satanists. Not going in to much detail, as I'm currently between a mix of tidying stoof up with my upgraded PC, tidying up my layer code for the look of LJ and looking through Amazon. Tim took me out for breakfast this morning and then we went to get my computer upgrades (from him and my mum), he'd already fitted me a RAM upgrade after a PC burnout earlier in the week, and now I've got a nice 120GB hard drive added. I now have everything needed to run games like Guild Wars - except for actually having a copy of games like Guild Wars. Heard an interesting convo as I was coming out of the computer shop and passing the barred windows of Barclays, a little blonde haired son looked up to his dad : Kid : Is that where the Police live? Dad : The Police live everywhere, they're horrible people. On the side of greed, I got quite a few items of loot and egoboo as well. An early, sung post from Tink that I tried to imagine how long a note could be held for, a pleasant reply from Spin to a post, money from my Nan, £20 for Amazon from my team mates (as well as a card that even had my previous team manager signing - I was touched!), a home-made card from Heth and the boys, and an interesting smelling body wash and socks from my Aunt Pat. All of which was most appreciated!! | |
