Before I start, I want to say that I tempted fate with my Anti-Youth rant yesterday, when a few hours later the police turned up at the closed hotel yesterday to drag some kids out who had managed to get in. What they were doing is unknown, but the current suggestion is something involving drugs and drink. Today, they apparently threatened Rob in this building. Little bastards.

Ok, so today was a long arse day in the office. Luckily Gary was back, so with a few phone calls it passed fairly quicker.

I spoke to Andy, who told me that the weekend overtimers managed to get through 100 boxes of files in two days. This was amazing, and damn inconvenient, as it seriously screws up my planning for my itinery. We originally had about 150 boxes left, now we have 50, and they are due back this weekend. Looks like my trips to Bedminster will end prematurely.

There was a very interesting document that came out into the public domain, via the National Audit Office, which talks about the Department for Work and Pensions battle against benefit fraud. The reason why it's interesting, is because it's a report on then International benchmark of fraud and error in social security systems, so it details welfare systems in other countries and the sort of fraud they face. Yes, alright, so it may not be too interesting. However, it does paint the UK in quite a respectable light in comparrison with other countries for how quickly we identify and understand fraud and error, and outlines approaches from other nations. I may comment more once I've given it a full read through, but it's a very good account, and certainly informative for annyone who may need to claim benefit after a move. The countries covered are: Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden and USA.

I realised that out of one of the windows the Giant Carrot will clearly be visible, and at 85ft is it really surprising? Already we can see the top of the 'grain silo' that makes it's internal shell.

I went round to see Heth and the boys this evening for a barbeque, which was good fun. Watched a bit of Braniac: Science Abuse too.
