Yes, I am slightly behind the crowd, but I finally got around to watching Pirates of the Caribbean - Curse of the Black Pearl. I hadn't really spared the time to catch it in the cinema, and didn't have the inclination to buy or rent it on DVD, however, when I saw Heth she mentioned wanting to see Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Mans Chest and I told her I hadn't caught the original - and which point she lent me her DVD.

It was great. Slightly different than I expected from the trailers on TV, which seemed to imply more time on the island and stuff, but it was a great laugh that reminded me a great deal of Indiana Jones movies. The special effects were superb and the storyline was very gripping. Well worth a watch.

I'm due to see Dead Mans Chest with Heth and the boys at the cinema too.

However, not so sublime viewing was Mezzo DSA which Rapture TV have chosen to put on after Fullmetal Alchemist to replace Wolf's Rain after it finished. I'm not sure if I like the show. It had it's good moments - for example, schoolgirls 'suggesting' a peer should raise money for blackmarket goods by going online for lecherous old men; the hitching up of very tight spandex clothing; assorted costume poses; and a very overenthusiastic girl who reminded me of Excel from Excel Saga. The downside was that it seemed to change art style every so often to look rather poor, and it just seemed to drag a bit.

Tonight I saw the last episode of Wolf's Rain, a series I joined viewing from 7 May when it was at episode 24 of 30, and was hooked from that episode. There was so much in the story, that even missing all the backstory I could follow it and feel the tension, and despite missing the character development could still feel empathy for them, and a sense of loss at the passing of characters.

It's a series that I can't recommend enough to anyone, it's truly a great story. In fact, thanks to YouTube there's very little excuse not to.

Still got Fullmetal Alchemist running too.

How dare they?! How dare a channel on Sky call themselves Rapture and lead me to believe they are some fundamental religious channel, and then reveal that not only are they not, but that they have been showing Fullmetal Alchemist and Wolf's Rain for friggin' months.

Dammit!!
