Following on from the last meme-tastic endeavour, The Surrealist also has a Movie Re-Quote Generator.

What happens when you mix Guise with famous lines?

[info]bell_de_tink reminded me of the glory of The Surrealist's Slogan Generator, so I once again went through and got a few more my own for entertainment.

One of my favourite parts of the Business Studies course was Creative Marketing, and I'm so glad Guise rhymes easily with some jingles.

04 Jun 2006 16:57 - Testing The Market...Update
Soul
Some might remember how I mentioned being tested by market researchers on my opinion of a series of advert drafts, as covered in my entry on 25 March 2006.

The main advert that got attention was the Specsavers advert in an almost manga style, which seemed to suggest that Specsavers could change your gender.

The advert is now showing on TV, and though the ad has changed slightly, the end message still has the sex change overtunes.

Be the judge yourself, it's available for viewing on Just4Info.

Humour
Everything I ever learnt about destroying zombie hordes appears to have been in error. I needn't bother stocking up on shotguns and shells like Resident Evil suggests, and research on chainsaw-with-armbrace from Evil Dead is superfluous.

In fact, it turns out that an old institution dedicated to helping people cope with personal issues have turned to the protection of human life from the undead horde.

The Samaritans are going hard core, baby.

Forget Lemming Sunday, the zombies are going to feel Massacre Monday. Set your speed dial, and let them come get some!

On the way home this morning, Tim and I were asked to take part in market research. We were taken into the Winter Gardens and shown videos of future adverts, they were cartoon sketches instead of finished products, but actually I think the cartoon look was so much better.

It was mainly for Specsavers, with their 2for1 Designer Sunglasses deal, but they also showed a few others.

Sanex - feminine deodorant - shows a woman cycling, unicycling, driving and doing chin-ups followed by a guy kissing her armpit mid-chin-up. Firstly, gym girls are nice, secondly, even deodorised gym girls probably have armpits that might not be the best place to kiss, thirdly, kissing an armpit mid-chin-up surely makes gripping hard? Also, girl on unicycle had a large wobbly bum.

Vanish Powerball - dishwasher tablet - dull as, well, dish water. Yay, a tablet that cleans dishes, in water, releasing red dye. Dye, the stuff that stains used to clean. Wooo.

Benilyn - cough syrup - a very good sketch of a jazz player, that really went well with the music. Very arty. Unfortunately, they'll replace it with a real person, despite the sketching looking amazing.

Specsavers - designer sunglasses - street cred guy walks past other street cred guys, there's the sound of tires and a care full of suits turn up, guy uses a palm print to enter a hidden alcove. Suits chase after, door opens, woman in different sunglasses walks out, small alcove is empty. As she walks toward camera, the suits look confused, screen reads about the 2 for 1 deal on designer sunglasses.

The message is convulluted though, I can tell that they want to get across the 2for1 deal, they've decided to add in a message about changing your look/personality easily with their goods, but the end result : Go to Specsavers and get a sex change op in seconds without a scalpel. Could even be, that they make a tough guy effeminate?

The thing is, it had a great Matrix-y feel, almost manga feel to it that I thought was freakin' amazing. I was crushed when they told me it was going to be made as a live action advert. This was seriously one of the best adverts I have seen in freakin' ages.

It was quite a laugh though. Got WHSmith book vouchers for it.
